How to use Black and White Patterns

Hey friends,

So lately, I've been obsessing over anything black and white, whether polka dots, chevron, or stripes.  I want it, I pin it, I share it, I repost it.

Now, I know some of you are thinking having a black and white pattern means no other color, which is the complete opposite.  As a matter of fact, a touch of color splash will make your design pop.

The great thing with black and white pattern is that you can use it every where, in your home decor, party designs, fashion, accessories, or table top.

This new trend is being seen everywhere, from parties to home decors.  The best thing is, I don't see this trend going away anytime soon either. Black and white have always been associated with formal and classy, and by adding a touch of color, you just added chic.

But be careful so your design or decor don't look too Gothic or halloween-ish, mixed it up with colors and don't be afraid to experiment with different patterns.

Now, let's take a look at some ideas:

I found this gorgeous picture on Pinterest. This beautiful cake is accented with a red flower.

Repost from celebrationsathomeblog.com is this beautiful decor. Mixing gold with black and white chevron runner.  I love the mix and the balloons. The paper fans are a nice added touch, adding a background without the fuss.

From cupcakesandcashmere.com are these beautiful gold forks. Be warned gold utensils are not the cheapest things around but the added bling they add to a table may be worth it.

Nate Berkus for Target small ceramic vase will add the perfect touch to a living area. Maybe instead of white roses, you could add peonies, which are beautiful in their own rights.

This beautiful black and gold chevron throw pillow is from Etsy shop owner, PeachandPosh,

How gorgeous is this chair? Well for $585.00 this could be yours. The where is is at shopspaceandplace.com.

This dress is from MonifC.com. This "Marcie" colorblock dress is form flattering and when you sign up for newsletter, you get 15% off your first purchase. Happy shopping.

So there you have it. The many ways you can use black and white without fear. I hope I have inspired you to the challenge.

With love,
Judith
