I wanted to share some pics from my weekend with the family.
First my son and I started on our Christmas countdown (there's more cotton beard added since I took this picture). It's a great DIY project that you can with the kids and not to mention it helps them with numbers and understanding the days of the week. You can get it here:
on my Pinterest board or here:

Our next stop was Christmas tree shopping. While driving through North Miami, I spotted a tent with the "starting at $29.95" sign, made a u-turn, parked, and proceeded to pick our tree. Here is the catch friends, the $29.95 trees were probably a little taller than my nephew (green shirt cutie), so naturally I didn't want them. We settled for the one above which came up to $65. I'm thinking next year, I'm sticking to buy a tree in Broward County, which would have been at least $10 or $15 less.
Saturday nights, Applebee's had buy one get free on select drinks, I settled for TWO Cosmos.

Sunday, I stopped by Betty's Place for some good old fashion Haitian food. I had Jerk chicken with white rice, my sister had the griot with white rice, and the kids had chicken fingers with fries and cheese burger. DELICIOUS.
My favorite at Betty's Place was the Rum Punch. It was tasty, tropical, with the right amount of rum, needless to say, I will be going back (especially for that).
My reason I keep trying. (He's paying attention)
Last but certainly not least is my beautiful mother. I love this picture of her and had to show her off to the world #1MOM.
