First of all I didn't know where there was a store, until some other DIYers told me about this location down here in south Florida, not too far from me. So at first glance, it looks like your typical craft store but in my opinion, it's a a combination of Michaels and Homegoods combine. That particular store is huge. It replaced a K-Mart so you already get the size. I really don't think I really saw the entire store, as different things were pulling me into different directions, plus my 4 year old was pulling me into the opposite aisle. I can tell you all the Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Christmas stuff were out in full beautiful displays.
One my favorite aisle, was the wall art aisle. There was the vintage signs, the frame canvas art, and lots of quote frame art. All so beautiful. I even found this fake bake goods aisle. I guess for my bakers, that was fun. My son thought it was so hilarious how the fake breads and fruits looked so real. I thought Michaels had better silk flowers.
Here what I didn't like. In my opinion, Hobby Lobby is pricier than Michaels and Homegoods. Sure they had a little bit more stuff for an average craft store, but I saw things I know would have cost me less elsewhere. The other turn off was on a Friday that particular store closed at 8:00pm. I mean seriously not even 9:00pm. That was another reason I didn't get to really see the entire store. Now, I did sign up for their coupons, which I'm sure will match those of Michaels, but I really need to see what their sales are like before fully committing to them.
Anyone else have some opinions on them? I would love to hear about it. Leave us a comment below.
